Key Priorities
Kaipara’s future is in smart investment to ensure growth, strong businesses and united communities. I’ll ensure development benefits all parts of Kaipara, while keeping council connected and listening to our people.
Infrastructure

-
District faces the dual challenge of increased growth and outdated infrastructure mainly in the west.
-
Communities are feeling the strain whether it’s roads, public facilities, or waters.
-
We need strategic infrastructure investment that delivers long-term value without overburdening households.
-
Continued growth must be matched with reliable, well-maintained infrastructure.
-
Equitable investment in infrastructure is needed to ensure long-term sustainability and job creation.
-
I will advocate for targeted investment in these critical services, particularly in the areas where there has been under investment.
-
We need to deliver modern, safe and reliable infrastructure that supports population and economic growth.
Growth and Resilience

For district wide growth we need to prioritise fiscal discipline.
-
I will focus on funding models that reflect fairness and supports equitable and sustainable development across the district.
-
I is committed to driving economic development that benefits the entire district.
-
For the District this means supporting our farmers, growers and small businesses.
-
I will also promote current and sustainable land use and ensure the rating model reflects fairness and equity.
-
We need to recognise the opportunity that the Te Waihekeora Reservoir brings to the west for landowners to access water to help the development of their land to other high value options like horticulture.
Responsible Leadership

For responsible leadership, rebuilding trust in Council is essential.
-
This includes restoring governance that ensures future decisions reflect our community values.
-
I will work hard to ensure our communities, urban and rural are genuinely heard and involved in decision-making.
